„My name is Eddy Wilmet – 49 years old and living in the town Mechelen (BELGIUM),
situated between Antwerp and Brussels
I’m chief of police (homicide division) in our capital Brussels.
I started collecting at the age of 7 and added selfcollected specimens
to my collection.
When I was 22 and had gathered more than 25.000 shells of worldwide
families I decided to specialize in only a few families.
Now 42 years after I started collecting shells, I’m the proud owner of an
unique collection of Muricidae of +10.000 specimens (recent) and 400
specimens of fossil Muricidae.
I also collect Pectinidae (+2.000 specimens) Lima, Plicatula, Spondylus,
Chama, Nautilus and old shellprints, stamps, telephonecards as long as
they have murexes on them.
For the moment my entire collection is packed in boxes, as in 1 or 2
years I’ll be moving to another house (with shellrooms).
I’m member of several shellclubs amongs them both Belgian ones –
BVC-Gloria Maris (Antwerpen) and la Société Belge de Malacologie (Brussels)
Each year I attend about 5-8 shellshows in France, Belgium, Germany and
the Netherlands with a nice shelltable.
I invite everybody to send me an E-mail so they can get my extensive
trade-list (+1200 species).
I love to exchange shells and buy also items of interest to me (recent +
fossil)
I welcome all visitors of shellshows at my table (they can bring shells for exchange).”
