Kolekcjonerzy stożków, a przy tym zwolennicy konchistyki internetowej znają Go dzięki:
?An Illustrated Checklist of Recent Conidae?, którą redaguje na swojej stronie. Za szczegółową wiedzę w tym temacie cenią Go znawcy ?jadowitych piekności?, choćby Paul Kersten /I.K.M.M. ?CONCHA?/, współredaktor – ?The Cone Collector?.
Ja, bardzo cieszę się, że mogę gościć Rossa Mayhew?a na mojej stronie i należeć do grona Jego shell-friends!

Autor listu w swoim przydomowym i żywym herbarium.
Jak widać, fascynacja różnorodnymi aspektami Natury pozostała mu bliska, choć obecnie najbardziej zajmują go muszle mięczaków.
Daje o tym wyobrażenie Jego witryna: www.schnr-specimen-shells.com

A teraz, w oryginalnej wersji list Rossa Mayhew?a, którym zechciał zaprezentować się polskim konchistom. Ciekawy styl skłonił mnie do pozostawienia go bez tłumaczenia.

?I have always been interested in the natural world: from the age of 8, i learned about many aspects of nature:  first plants – their medical and cullinary uses mostly, then rocks, minerals and fossils, followed by ecological matters, astronomy and finally – yes, shells!!
I collected for a few years, but i soon found myself with an un-organized pile of shells in my house.  So, i decided that perhaps i should find them new homes, and invented a church-related project to do this: the profits from selling my budding collection would go towards development and dissaster relief projects.
I started a little shell business to do this, and it worked out so well that i expanded the affair into a full-blown international dealership.  Now, 16 years later it is my main occupation.
I greatly enjoy finding good shells however i can, from contacts around the world, enjoying them for a little while, then sending them to their new homes with collectors in many countries.  I love variation in particular: how in most populations of shell-bearing mollusc you can often find extremely different colors, patterns and shapes.
I like to make up extreme pairs and variation sets from specimens from single populations, and these have proven popular with my customers.
I also try hard to obtain good collection information for my specimens – most collectors appreciate this !! In summary, i enjoy being a shell dealer, communicating with purchasers and sellers from so many places, and seeing some of the most interesting and beautiful shells around, in the process.

With all the Best regards,
Ross.?
